2022 budget highlight

The big Budget day is here finally. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has already presented Budget 2022 and has tabled the finance Bill 2022 to the Parliament.

The Budget 2022 is likely to come as a disappointment to salaried taxpayers, as little to no changes were brought into effect in terms of income tax. Sitharaman gave her shortest Budget speech till date this year.

Sitharaman presented this Budget for the fourth consecutive year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also represented the Lower House. He presided over a Cabinet meeting today where the Union Budget 2022 got approved. The FM stated that unemployment was a result of pandemics worldwide. However, he said that he had taken steps to assist people and has made progress. We will continue to do more.”

Sitharaman’s Budget speech was over, and PM Modi described the Union Budget as “people-friendly”. Modi kept his speech brief and said he would speak more about the subject on Wednesday.
The Budget this year was paperless for the second consecutive year, as the finance ministry had previously notified. After the presentation of the Union Budget, the Union Budget 2022-23 will also be available via the Mobile App. The finance minister presented her tab with the budget documents to the Parliament before it reached the House.
